We&#8217;re going to the Central Istria.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.central-istria.com\/assets\/8aaebb8a-96a3-4159-b5b8-fa99ee0bc18a?key=slider-img\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Central Istria Walk &amp; Taste<\/a><\/strong> is a series of free tours through six towns that often stay off the usual tourist routes. This year the event is organized from 17 to 31 August 2026 and from 7 to 24 September 2026. The tours are led by professional tourist guides, in Croatian and English, free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201ewalk\u201c part alone is cool and educational, but it gets better. An extra charge of 6 euros covers a tasting of mane\u0161tra and fritule with a glass of wine.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tuesday, Pazin. <\/strong>The meeting spot is in front of the bell tower of St Nicholas church at 10 am. For an extra 2.50 euros you can also visit Pazin Castle, the Ethnographic Museum of Istria and the Pazin Town Museum, and guests get a free tasting of Pazin cukeran\u010di\u0107 and pa\u0161areta.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday, Sveti Petar u \u0160umi and Tinjan. <\/strong>The meeting spot is on the square in front of the Pauline monastery in Sveti Petar u \u0160umi at 5 pm. An extra charge of 10 euros includes a visit to the House of Istrian Prosciutto with a prosciutto tasting and a glass of wine.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, Sveti Lovre\u010d. <\/strong>The meeting spot is on Istarska street in front of caffe bar Dom at 5 pm. For an extra 10 euros you can try Istrian prosciutto and other cured meat products with a glass of wine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Registration is <strong>required<\/strong>. It used to be the seat of the Diocese of Pi\u0107an.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/en\/podrucje-lag-a\/opcina-gracisce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gra\u010di\u0161\u0107e<\/a><\/strong>: its history goes back 2000 years, when the town was founded by the Gauls. It later served as the summer residence of the bishops of Pi\u0107an.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/en\/podrucje-lag-a\/grad-pazin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pazin<\/a><\/strong>: the town is the administrative heart of Istria and home to the famous <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pazin-cave.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pazin Cave<\/a><\/strong>, which inspired Jules Verne.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/en\/podrucje-lag-a\/opcina-sv-petar-u-sumi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sveti Petar u \u0160umi<\/a><\/strong>: a charming settlement with a Pauline monastery and a historic Croatian library.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/en\/podrucje-lag-a\/opcina-tinjan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tinjan<\/a>: <\/strong>known as the municipality of Istrian prosciutto.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/en\/podrucje-lag-a\/opcina-sveti-lovrec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sveti Lovre\u010d<\/a><\/strong>: has historic walls which are a reminder that Istria was an important crossroads centuries before it became a popular holiday destination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><strong>Where to stay<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Have you decided to spend at least part of your holiday in the green interior of the peninsula? Here are <strong>three villas<\/strong> located right along this year&#8217;s Central Istria Walk &amp; Taste route.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/villas-guide.com\/en\/villa\/istria\/pazin-30857\">Villa 55<\/a>, Tinjan: <\/strong>It has a fitness area, a hydromassage tub and a Finnish sauna, and the yard is fully fenced, making it safe for children. Motovun and Gro\u017enjan, two favorite destinations for Istria enthusiasts, are also nearby.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/villas-guide.com\/en\/villa\/istria\/tinjan-36447\">Casa Vitale<\/a>, Tinjan: <\/strong>Another option in Tinjan is Casa Vitale, which has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and space for seven guests.
