5 ideas for a fun-filled day in Istria

If you have children, chances are that taking them to the seaside alone won’t be enough to make them say they had a blast. You’ll need to be a bit more creative if you want your holiday to be remembered as the best one ever. There are many fun water and adventure parks in Istria, and we have compiled a list of five places that will make your holiday even more enjoyable. If you visit one or two, the chances of your child naming you ‘Parent of the Year‘ will increase dramatically!

1. Aquapark Istralandia, Novigrad

Opened in 2014, Aquapark Istralandia is located just 7 kilometres from Novigrad. It is one of Croatia’s biggest water parks, boasting over 20 water attractions and more than 1.6 kilometres of slides. The aquapark is open seasonally from late spring to early autumn and offers a lively entertainment programme, as well as several bars and snack bars where you can enjoy a drink or a snack before heading off on new watery adventures.

2. Aquacolors, Poreč

Aquapark Aquacolors, which opened in 2015, is located just 5 km from the Istrian town of Poreč. It boasts several pools and 15 waterslides, with a total water surface area of 6,000 m². It is suitable for children and adults of all ages. You can enjoy a gentle ride down the lazy river, slide through an enclosed tunnel in complete darkness, or experience a free fall down a nearly vertical slide. The Aquapark is open during the summer season, but opening hours may vary depending on the month and weather conditions.

3. Dinopark, Funtana

Dinopark in Funtana is an essential destination for you if your child has paleontological ambitions. This exciting theme park offers rides such as carousels and swings for all ages, as well as lively pirate and Jurassic shows, archery and shuriken stations, trampolines and playgrounds. To take a break from all the thrills, your child will love calming pony rides through the forest or visiting the goat land, where they can cuddle the goats and other furry animals.

4. Adventure parks Jangalooz, Umag, Pomer

If you’re craving a rush of adrenaline and want to feel your heart pounding, then look no further than the Jangalooz adventure parks in Istria. Located in Umag and Pomer near Medulin, these parks are the perfect way to get your heart pumping. Safety comes first at Jangalooz, as they have the highest quality standards. Opening times differ between the parks, so make sure you check before you visit. Put your strength and skills to the test by climbing up the net, overcoming the obstacles and riding the dizzying zip lines several metres above the ground. If you dare!

5. Adventure park Sky Fox, Poreč

Adventure park Sky Fox is located near Tar, between Novigrad and Poreč and offers a unique mixture of adrenalin and fun. This adventure parks offers several tracks – from the easiest – suitable for children to the most difficult ones for adults. Children aged up to five are invited to visit Asterix’s house, where they can test their motor skills on age-appropriate devices.  Apart from that you can swing with a giant swing or experience the free fall. The parks opens as early as March 1st 2026.
